“An exploration of ed tech resources for supporting ELL students”

The inquiry question we established for this project was: What are three of the most useful ed tech resources for supporting ELL students? To explore this topic, we discovered and critiqued eight different ed tech resources for ELL students. The resources evaluated were Duolingo, Ling, ChatGPT and Monica, RealLife English, WordReference, Freerice, Epic Books, and Google Translate. Each resource was analyzed for its pros and cons, and the top three (or four) overall recommendations were Duolingo, Word Reference, Free Rice, and Ling.

My role in this project included creating the Google Doc for planning, organizing and facilitating group meetings, and the independent research of Duolingo and Ling. Once we had each finished exploring our assigned tech resources, we met to plan and record our project. I booked the study room for us to record in and was also involved in creating questions and prompts for our podcast-style discussion. Overall, it was a team effort and I can confidently say that everyone in the group played an important, and equal, role in the success of this project!
